How to Install Msvcr70.dll

1. Open your Web browser. Browse to a page where you can download a working version of msvcr70.dll for free. You can find a link to one of these pages in Resources, but there are several sites that offer these common .dll files for download.
2. Click the download link and follow the on-screen prompts to save the file to your hard drive. Make sure you know the destination directory to which the file is being downloaded.
3. Locate the downloaded file and check to see if it is a .dll file or a .zip file. If it is a .dll, skip the rest of this step. If it is a .zip, like the files you can download through the site linked to in Resources, double-click the file to open it in the default program your computer uses to open .zip files. When this program opens, look for a button that says 'Extract,' 'Unzip' or 'Unpack' and click it. You'll be prompted to choose a location to which to extract the file; choose your computer's desktop and click 'Open.' This will put msvcr70.dll on your desktop.
4. Open the Windows system folder. To do this, double-click the 'My Computer' icon on the desktop, then double-click the 'C:' icon. If you're using Windows NT or 2000, double-click the 'WINNT' folder, but for all other versions of Windows, double-click the 'Windows' folder. Once inside this folder, double-click the 'SysWOW64' folder if you're using the 64-bit version of Windows XP or Vista, the 'System' folder if you're using Windows 95, 98 or ME, or the 'System32' folder if you're using any other version. This is the system folder.
5. Click and drag the msvcr70.dll file you downloaded or extracted into the Windows system folder. At this point, you may see a message stating that a file by that name already exists in the folder. If you see this, click the 'Yes' button when asked if you would like to replace the existing file with the new one.
6. Reboot your computer. Windows will detect and register the new .dll file upon boot-up.
